Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the gained 0.97%, while the index added 0.43%, and the index gained 0.84%.

The best performers of the session on the were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:), which rose 5.12% or 1.30 points to trade at 26.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (ETR:) added 2.68% or 5.70 points to end at 218.50 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:) was up 2.50% or 0.98 points to 40.22 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:), which fell 1.97% or 4.90 points to trade at 244.30 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:) declined 1.59% or 1.06 points to end at 65.72 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:) was down 1.52% or 0.80 points to 51.90.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:) which rose 5.00% to 15.77, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:) which was up 4.88% to settle at 122.40 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) which gained 3.16% to close at 27.75.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 2.87% to 55.75 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:) which lost 2.08% to settle at 2.68 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:) which was down 1.73% to 36.29 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:) which rose 5.00% to 15.77, Kontron AG (ETR:) which was up 3.06% to settle at 16.17 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which gained 2.82% to close at 11.67.

The worst performers were Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:) which was down 3.88% to 66.90 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which lost 2.87% to settle at 55.75 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) which was down 1.97% to 244.30 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 396 to 226 and 26 ended unchanged.

Shares in Continental AG O.N. (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.52% or 0.80 to 51.90. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.87% or 1.65 to 55.75. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.87% or 1.65 to 55.75.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.84% to 17.67.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.49% or 37.85 to $2,580.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.13% or 2.11 to hit $69.42 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.63% or 1.86 to trade at $72.47 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 101.49.
