Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 0.33%, while the index fell 0.20%, and the index lost 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the were Adidas AG (ETR:), which rose 1.89% or 4.40 points to trade at 237.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) added 1.14% or 5.80 points to end at 516.80 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:) was up 1.05% or 2.20 points to 212.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:), which fell 1.98% or 4.90 points to trade at 242.00 at the close. Munich Reinsurance (ETR:) declined 1.71% or 8.30 points to end at 478.30 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:) was down 1.51% or 0.25 points to 16.02.
The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (ETR:) which rose 4.20% to 29.28, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:) which was up 4.09% to settle at 93.20 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which gained 2.34% to close at 67.85.
The worst performers were Tui AG NA (ETR:) which was down 4.69% to 6.39 in late trade, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:) which lost 4.49% to settle at 6.13 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 4.00% to 12.96 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 4.46% to 45.86, PNE Wind AG (ETR:) which was up 2.89% to settle at 12.10 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which gained 2.34% to close at 67.85.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 4.00% to 12.96 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which lost 2.03% to settle at 17.87 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:) which was down 2.02% to 26.24 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 341 to 269 and 33 ended unchanged.
Shares in Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:) rose to all time highs; rising 1.05% or 2.20 to 212.60. Shares in Lanxess AG (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.20% or 1.18 to 29.28.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 14.14% to 18.84.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.65% or 17.50 to $2,672.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.36% or 0.25 to hit $70.08 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.22 to trade at $73.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 101.26.
