Meanwhile, Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:) added 2.15% or 0.92 points to end at 43.65 and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:) was up 2.09% or 8.47 points to 414.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:), which fell 5.19% or 11.25 points to trade at 205.57 at the close. Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:) declined 4.39% or 21.44 points to end at 467.13 and American Express Company (NYSE:) was down 2.19% or 5.50 points to 245.42.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Oracle Corporation (NYSE:) which rose 11.44% to 155.89, Broadcom Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 5.26% to settle at 148.23 and Digital Realty Trust Inc (NYSE:) which gained 4.97% to close at 156.76.
The worst performers were Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co (NYSE:) which was down 8.52% to 16.10 in late trade, General Motors Company (NYSE:) which lost 5.44% to settle at 44.82 and Aptiv PLC (NYSE:) which was down 5.36% to 65.38 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Sirius XM Holding Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 925.47% to 27.38, Quhuo Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was up 315.77% to settle at 1.36 and iLearningEngines Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 115.17% to close at 1.56.
The worst performers were Edgio Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 38.36% to 0.75 in late trade, Painreform Ltd (NASDAQ:) which lost 33.33% to settle at 1.06 and Singularity Future Technology Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 32.16% to 1.73 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1439 to 1355 and 108 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1668 rose and 1599 declined, while 154 ended unchanged.
Shares in Oracle Corporation (NYSE:) rose to all time highs; gaining 11.44% or 16.00 to 155.89. Shares in Aptiv PLC (NYSE:) fell to 3-years lows; down 5.36% or 3.70 to 65.38. Shares in Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.15% or 0.92 to 43.65. Shares in Sirius XM Holding Inc (NASDAQ:) rose to 5-year highs; rising 925.47% or 24.71 to 27.38. Shares in Edgio Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 38.36% or 0.47 to 0.75. Shares in Painreform Ltd (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 33.33% or 0.53 to 1.06. Shares in Singularity Future Technology Ltd (NASDAQ:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 32.16% or 0.82 to 1.73.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.50% or 12.70 to $2,545.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.49% or 2.40 to hit $66.31 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.02% or 2.17 to trade at $69.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.10, while USD/JPY fell 0.56% to 142.37.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 101.61.
